PLAYLISTS // 10 Songs You Need In Your Eardrums, Vol. 3

August was another big month for music in my little universe.

Some of my favourite artists - Mumford & Sons, Ellie Goulding & Frightened Rabbit - released their new songs onto the airwaves and made me very excited for their upcoming albums, as did Biffy Clyro -'mon the Biffy!

The Olympics Opening Ceremony gave us little beauties like 'Caliban's Dream' by Underworld (voiced by Alex Trimble of Two Door Cinema Club) and threw another of my faves - Frank Turner - into the limelight just in time for him to release a new single.

Friends, Bastille, Spector and We Are the In Crowd were all brand new to me this month and are all worth checking out, despite their widely varying styles.

They're not on the playlist, but both Jessie Ware and Of Monsters and Men finally released their debut albums this month and they're both an absolute delight.

All in all, it's been a jolly good month for music!

Check out this month's 10 tracks by clicking here ..and let me know what you've been listening to of late.

XO

  1. Well I will give them a go. At the moment I am singing along with the Bee Gees, not sure how many are still alive. Trust your song list is from the living.
    I am sure it is!

  2. Like Jill, I am from another generation but I'm interested to hear new stuff. (Wish I was as funny as Jill, though.) You've gone to a lot of work here! Thanks.

    1. Unfortunately most of my generation's music makes me cringe -- i feel like we have to do a lot of filtering to find the things that are worth listening to these days. What kind of music/which artists are your normal go-to choices?
