i haven't blogged much over the last few weeks. i haven't been around the computer quite as much as usual either because.. well.. the Olympics have turned me into the kind of person who does this instead..
i bought my first pair of trainers in years and years, started a Couch to 5k program (yes, me, running - hilarious), got back in the swimming pool with a Swimfit schedule.. and lost 3lb in a week as an added bonus! i don't know about "Inspiring A Generation" but all those Olympians certainly inspired me.
Amongst all that sudden exercise, however, i did manage to fit in a wee trip to Cruden Bay last night for the commemoration of the Battle of Cruden, where the Scots conquered the Vikings back in 1012.
Said commemoration involved the burning of a 'Viking long boat', the cheeriest 'Vikings' ever, some fireworks, and more horned hats and helmets than you'd think would be available in a small Scottish village..
Y'know.. just a casual Saturday night really!

DeleteWow! This looks so much fun! (eh, the Vikings, not the sports...)
ReplyDeleteha! Yes, i do tend to agree: Vikings > Sport.
DeleteGood for you for getting all sporty - and I had no idea there were such goings-on in Cruden Bay! Great photos, thank you for sharing.
ReplyDeleteRight! i didn't know Cruden Bay had anything to it (historically or presently) besides Slains Castle!
