2013: The Picture Edition

I don't know about anyone else, but when it comes to the end of a year, I find it all too easy to look back on the past twelve months and pick out all my failings and faults - all the things that I "messed up" or which didn't go quite to plan. It's important, then, that I make a conscious effort to look at the good things that happened too.

With that in mind, I went back through all my photos from 2013 (as if I needed an excuse!) and enjoyed the reminder of just how many blessings I received and experienced in the year that passed.

Here's what 2013 looked like for me..

January The year started off with a fairly quiet month in which I had a sudden burst of new year's energy and expelled it all by exercising, spending a night at the ballet and starting a new youth group at work.

February In February I saw Bastille, Two Door Cinema Club and Frightened Rabbit in concert and my work took an unexpected direction as I started leading story sessions at a local nursery.

March A month spent mostly with food, assemblies and Easter on the brain!

April In April I saw Kitty the Lion and Kate Nash in concert as well as Carrie Grant and Jo Enright at a charity event; I joined a gym for the first time; and I led our first ever 'all-age worship' service at work.

May This month was largely dominated by a holiday to Tunisia with some of my best friends!

June In June I turned 25 and I sat (and passed) my first Open University exam and module.

July July was the month in which my beautiful nephew, Lucas, was born! It was also the month in which I led a slightly hectic but enjoyable holiday club week; had a wee adventure up to Pennan with my parents; spent a day catching up with friends in Prestwick; and set off on a trip to Iceland on my own!

August I started this month off exploring islands and geysirs and waterfalls in Iceland; and then I came home, took part in another holiday club week and enjoyed a childish day out in Macduff.

September In September we started a new family event at work; I saw Nick Mulvey and Laura Marling in concert; and I spent a few days in Edinburgh hanging out with my girls. Sadly, it was also the month in which we lost our dog Brodie. :(

October This month I saw Nina Nesbitt in concert; had a fun wee road-trip to Inverness with friends; ran another holiday club; and then got a bit consumed by Street Pastors training.

November November saw me get commissioned as a Street Pastor and survive my most stressful public speaking engagement to date. And then our new puppy-buddy Ruan arrived!

December And last but not least, in December I got a bit lost in all the pre-Christmas busy-ness; enjoyed a quiet family Christmas; and spent the end of the year back in Edinburgh with friends, seeing the Lion King as well as Chvrches and Django Django at the Hogmanay Street Party.

All in all, 2013 was extremely kind to me.
Here's to a good 2014!
