PLAYLISTS // March '16

March seems to have raced by more quickly than I could keep up with, but I'm pleased to say I at least managed to keep track of some good music!

My musical preferences have been something of a mixed bag recently. I fished some of my Grandad's old CDs out of a cupboard and enjoyed listening to some Willie Nelson, Fleetwood Mac, Enya and Runrig, but I was equally enjoying some brand new album releases: 'You're A Man Now, Boy' by Raleigh Ritchie; The Rocket Summer's 'Zoetic'; 'You and I' and its previously unreleased recordings by Jeff Buckley; The 1975 with the longest album title ever ('I Like It When You Sleep, For You Are So Beautiful Yet So Unaware Of It') and 'Beautiful Lies' by Birdy, sneaking in just before the month came to an end.

There were some excellent single releases this month too, including a much-anticipated release by Biffy Clyro ('mon the Biffy!) and a track from Violent Femmes' first album in 15 years!

Here are just 10 of the songs I've been into this month..

'Get Out' - Frightened Rabbit // 'Memory' - Violent Femmes // 'Wolves of Winter' - Biffy Clyro //
'Bubblegum' - Mystery Jets // 'Human Interaction' - Tonight Alive // 'Inside Out' - Avalanche City //
'Friends' - Eliza and the Bear // 'Life Worth Living' - Laurel // 'Left Handed Kisses' - Andrew Bird
feat. Fiona Apple // 'Don't Worry About Me' - Frances

(If you only listen to one track from that list, make it the last one. Soooo pretty!)

You can find my growing 2016 playlist over here

Feel free to recommend me anything you think I might be missing out on..

  1. I have to write my dissertation for me in that case my playlist has always soft music, I have a habit of listening to music while working. And march is one of the most hectic months.
