Scotland's been having lots of snow these last few days. Peterhead seems to have escaped with only a light dusting (thank goodness), but other places in Aberdeenshire have had enough to close their schools and make for nightmare driving conditions. And, my word, it's cold - last time I checked it was -7°C!
I was most relieved to stumble across all three of our local deer family - I've only ever seen one over the last wee while and was beginning to worry the other two had gone to meet their maker.
I do so love the prettiness of snow, but I'm definitely ready for warmer days and shorter, lighter nights.. as soon as possible, please!

Gorgeous photos! I like the truck with the hay bales on it. And all the deer, of course!
ReplyDeleteAberdeen City's not too bad; there are a few inches in the parks, but nothing in the city centre. But, boy, is it COLD!
Sean Batty keeps telling us the snow's going to hit Aberdeen City and Shire badly on Monday -- I've never hoped so badly for a weatherman to be wrong!
DeleteI smiled at the no parking sign, someone obviously had. Lovely pics as always. Happy New Year.
ReplyDeleteI've walked past that same sign innumerable times before and the irony only just struck me on that day. Most amusing!
DeleteBeautiful photos, Laura. I'm so glad the deer are all present and accounted for! x
ReplyDeleteThank you, Christine - me too! A colleague of mine had reported hitting a deer with his car not far from here the other day - he swore it just kept going uninjured, but i was very concerned!
DeleteA fellow blogger also called Laura & also living in Aberdeenshire. Hello kindred spirit! I love the pictures and I have never agreed with anything more than I do this sentence 'I do so love the prettiness of snow, but I'm definitely ready for warmer days and shorter, lighter nights.. as soon as possible, please!'.
ReplyDeleteYes!
What a lot of coincidences! Thanks for dropping by my blog - i'm off to have a look at yours =]
