Wishing You A Merry Christmas

i have been the worst blogger ever this month, but i just wanted to take a minute to wish everyone a very merry and blessed Christmas!

Working for a church, this is a pretty hectic but greatly enjoyable time of the year. There are nativity rehearsals galore, Christmas parties with toddlers and Sunday Schools, outings to pantos, visits from Santa, carol services in abundance, and lots and lots of food. This week i joined with the other chaplains in leading a whole day of assemblies (and serving mince pies to the teachers!) at our local secondary school, which was an incredible privilege, and yesterday i led a church service for the first time ever, which included our Sunday School nativity, songs from the parent and toddlers group, two infant baptisms, a sketch by the teenagers, and memory verses from eight of our congregation. Phew!
i've been incredibly blessed by the last few weeks and the warm-fuzzies of belonging to such a supportive church family - and to top it all off, i found out this week that my contract (which expired last Sunday) is being renewed! Merry Christmas to me!

That said, i'm really glad that the busy-ness is done for now and i can settle down and enjoy Christmas with the family. My parents are hopefully joining me at our midnight service tonight, then the whole family will be together tomorrow for presents and Christmas dinner out at St Combs.. and i cannot wait!

i hope that everyone else is surrounded by loved ones this festive season. However you spend it, i hope you might be blessed abundantly this Christmas!

With love..
